For many of us who live in South East Asia where heat and humidity are the norm, escaping to the highlands for a respite can be really refreshing. Our region is also made for highland weddings as our unique geographical location provides us with hillocks and highlands that are naturally exuberant with flora and fauna. Nature lovers and conservation-minded couples are the perfect candidates for highland weddings. The choices are numerous – perfectly manicured gardens and parks, forest reserves even. Many of these locations offer quaint venues, including those with colonial-inspired aesthetics. These architecturally pleasing buildings also act as wonderful backdrops for wedding photography. Add to these, the cool highland air, cotton-candy clouds, the soft, enveloping mist and a calm, nonchalant vibe, and a surreal atmosphere will be a given for such weddings.
