Nowadays, we see more urban couples being more eco-conscious in their wedding planning efforts by wanting to minimise carbon footprints when planning for their wedding. Even when planning for a destination wedding, couples can do so by following some of these bright ideas:
- Have a destination wedding nearer to home. Minimise the need to take flights to attend your wedding.
- Get your guests to carpool instead or arrange for group transportation that allows for a larger group for friends or family to arrive together.
- Choose an eco-location where weddings can be held at wonderful natural surroundings.
- Go paperless and send e-invites through emails, websites or even social networking sites like Facebook. Guest will understand your paperless efforts if you explain nicely to them on being eco-conscious.
- At your wedding party, minimizse the use of paper napkins, plates and cutleries and use cloth napkins and ceramic dishware instead.
- Give guests wedding favours that are made out of recycled items or that can support community trade such as locally made crafts from the communities where you will hold your destination wedding.
- Serve organic food if possible.
- Use a hybrid car as the wedding car.
- And last but not least, for the eco-conscious bride, use makeup that are made of natural products.
